Much has occurred since we last connected. Change can happen in an instant!

After receiving a phone call from our daughter in Bozeman Montana, Larry and I packed up and left New Zealand for the United States last week.

Although I am used to travelling between countries, I have never travelled in such circumstances. I know most of us are feeling the chaos and uncertainty of this time. It’s almost like we are transitioning between worlds. And transition is uncomfortable!

Without going into all the situations of my life at this moment, let’s just say the Universe is bringing it on BIG time! Much of it is loss…loss of my mother as she spends her final days alone. The pending loss of our family dog as she struggles daily.  Even possible loss of our 5-generational family lakeside cabin as wild-fires surround it and attempt to engulf it.

The main reason we have come to the U.S., is not for these losses, however, but to support our family. Since we left our daughter in America to move N.Z. in 2004, she’s been strong. She is super self-reliant.  And, she asked for our help a few weeks ago. This is a BIG one. She needed her parent’s support and we were honored to come.

We have left the tranquil environment of our cottage on the bay in New Zealand where everything seemed to be “normal”, and jumped with both feet into a whirlwind of activity, deep loss and (literally) fire.

Since leaving home last Wednesday, I have not had much time at all to myself… to feel and process my emotions, to do long meditations, to write in my journal or hardly check in with myself and yet I feel calm.

My world has turned upside down and I’m waiting to come up for air. And, in the bigger picture I know I’m okay.

I feel like I am caught in an ocean riptide and I’m having to give into the power of the rip and allow it to take me out to sea. I’m having to completely let go of any struggle, control and fear and just allow it to take its course, trusting that no matter what happens, it’s all going to be fine.

This would not have been the case 20 years ago. I would have been triggered and reacted in fear. Not to say I don’t get occasionally triggered today. It can happen. And, because of my focused and consistent inner work, I have the skills to pause, look at my choices and consciously respond to my circumstances from an empowered place. It feels good!

About 40 years ago, OSHO was asked, “How do I avoid the pandemic? Below is his response:

You’re asking the wrong question Osho replied, ′′ the right question should be:

How to avoid the fear of dying caused by the epidemic (pandemic)?”

Because it is very easy to avoid the virus, it is very difficult to avoid the fear in you and in the world.

People will die more from this fear than from the epidemic (pandemic).

There is NO virus in this world more dangerous than FEAR.

Understand this fear, otherwise, you will become a dead body before your body dies.

It has nothing to do with the virus.

The scary atmosphere you feel in these moments is collective madness…

It has happened a thousand times and will continue to happen.

And it will continue if you don’t understand the psychology of crowds and fear.

You usually keep your fear at bay, but in the moment of collective madness, your consciousness can be completely lost.

You won’t even know when you lost control of your fear.

Then fear can make you do anything.

In such a situation you can also take your own life or the lives of others.

So much will happen in the coming times:

Many people will kill themselves and many people will kill more.

Attention, be mindful.

Don’t watch news that trigger fear.

Stop talking about the epidemic, repeating the same thing over and over again is like self-hypnosis.

Fear is a kind of self-hypnosis.

This idea will cause chemical changes in the body.

If you repeat the same idea over and over again, a chemical change is triggered that can sometimes be so toxic that it can kill you.

During an epidemic, energy around the world becomes irrational.

This way you can fall into a black hole anytime.

Meditation then becomes a protective aura into which no negative energy can penetrate.”

How easy is it for you to consciously respond to any circumstance or person from an empowered, grounded, loving and compassionate place vs reacting from a place of fear, worry or victim for example?

Using tools like meditation and your grounding cord, building your inner muscle of intuition and reconnecting to your true Self is empowering and allows you the freedom of choice, possibilities, trust, inner peace and multiple opportunities, no matter what is going on around you.

What is one way you tap into your spiritual Self to navigate your life from within? I invite you to share your experiences in the comments below.
