Do you wish the people or circumstances around you would change so you could be happier?

Trying to find happiness outside of yourself is a slippery slope to nowhere. Even if you were to acquire more money, a beloved or better health, life is constantly changing.

If you think that “thing” is making you happy, I promise it will be short lived. It’s like going after the pot-o-gold at the end of the rainbow…it’s just an illusion!

I believe, when we are happy on the inside, the world around us reflects that happiness.

When we make positive changes in our inner world, the Law of Attraction matches those changes around us. When we are happy, we are able to see and receive all the possibilities and opportunities available to us.

Below are 12 ways to create lasting happiness from the inside out.

  1. Forgive, accept and love all of yourself unconditionally, especially the stuff you don’t like.
  2. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and blaming others. It’s just a way of creating drama, numbing out and keeping you stuck right where you are.
  3. Feel and release your old emotions of anger and sadness…without going into self-pity, victim or blame.
  4. Spend time alone in silence. Only then are you able to hear the still, wise voice that’s trying to guide you.
  5. Stop throughout your day to take some nice, deep breathes. As you do, see yourself inhaling expansive light and love and exhaling worry, stress and fear.
  6. Stop apologizing and saying you are sorry. Every time you do you’re putting yourself down and saying you’re not enough. You are enough and you’re doing the best you know how in this moment.
  7. Take care of yourself before taking care of others. It’s important to fill your pitcher before pouring into others. Trying to give from an empty vessel is called martyrdom and you can’t create a happy life from there.
  8. Clear your clutter.  Let go of anything you don’t love or feel inspired by, including people.
  9. Slow things down and notice your thoughts, beliefs, fears, words and stories.  These inside items are what are actually creating your life.   Do you believe life is hard or do you believe life is easy? Notice.
  10. Connect to what you are grateful for daily. Gratitude is a “generating emotion”. That means, the more you feel grateful the more things you create to feel grateful for.
  11. Focus on your desires. What do you want? When you make choices that honour your values you are making choices that honour YOU. Find what you love and do that.
  12. Imagine living this desired life. Engaging your senses, actively imagine your life in the future, today.

Until we make the changes within, the same problem will continue showing up over and over again. That’s because what’s going on inside you is creating your happy or unhappy life. 

The fact is nothing changes until you do.
