Have you ever felt anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself—like you’re floating outside your body, unable to focus or relax?

That’s a sign your nervous system is dysregulated.

It might feel like:

  • Racing thoughts
  • Tight chest or shallow breathing
  • A sense of urgency or dread
  • Emotional reactivity or numbness
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

These are all natural responses when your body perceives a threat—even if there’s no danger present.

Triggers can include:

  • A tense conversation
  • Too much noise or stimulation
  • Scrolling the news or social media
  • Feeling rushed, overextended, or unseen

In these moments, your system moves into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn.

And while these are protective patterns, they can keep you stuck in a loop of stress if you don’t know how to come back to center.

Here’s the good news: There are many tools to bring yourself back.

Your breath is one of the most powerful tools you have.

Even just one slow, conscious breath begins to signal to your body: I’m safe. I’m here. I can soften.

Try This Simple Practice:

  • Sit or stand with your feet grounded
  • Inhale slowly through your nose to a count of 4
  • Hold gently at the top for 2 seconds
  • Exhale softly through your mouth to a count of 6
  • Repeat 3–5 times

Notice the shift. You may feel more present, clear, and connected.

This is nervous system regulation—and it’s foundational to feeling calm, confident, and capable in your daily life.

If this resonates, I warmly invite you to join me for a free Awaken, Expand and Align Zoom call next week where we’ll explore this topic more deeply.
