Many of us have been struggling since early 2025. Old habits connected to our conditioned thoughts and fears are not supporting us and are coming up for review.
In 2025, we are moving from the age of the mind into the age of the heart.
In the past, we searched for something outside ourselves to make us feel successful, happy and loved. Today we know that lasting happiness and love must be created from within ourselves first.
In the age of the heart, we are shedding victimhood, blame, struggle and fear, making room for trust, authenticity and intuitive guidance to lead the way.
Like a caterpillar in metamorphosis, patiently waiting to become a butterfly, many of us are in the process of metamorphosis ourselves. I wonder if you are here as well. You would know this because you may be feeling restless, uncomfortable, and frustrated in areas of your life. I know many of us are reevaluating relationships and careers. Many are going through a healing crisis. So if you are feeling any of this, I’m here to tell you that you aren’t alone!
These are what I refer to as ascension symptoms. We are pulling away from the old to give birth to the new. This can open feelings of confusion, loneliness, disappointment, anxiety, even depression.
My awakening happened over 20 years ago when I moved from California to New Zealand. Many of my clients and even family members are going through their awakening today.

So if this is you, instead of feeling frustrated or afraid, I invite you to reach for compassion, lean into TRUST and know you are on an exciting and unfolding path to greater self worth, authentic expression and love. I know it sounds crazy and maybe even a bit scary, but I know from living it that this is possible and there is freedom on the other side!
Now before your mind gets in the way and tries to “figure it all out,” it’s important to understand you cannot rush this process. The key is to drop out of the stories of your busy mind and into the quiet guidance of your heart with curiosity and love.
Below are a couple inquiries or journal prompts to help you open your heart. Take a moment now and ask yourself these questions…
- What have I been struggling with recently? What feels out of alignment to my heart? What am I ready to let go of to expand into more authenticity and deeper connection within myself?
- Is it time to rethink friendships, career, diet or belief systems?
- How can I simplify my life? What can I say “no” to make more time to go within?
And, here are some of my favorite exercises to expand your heart and go within:
- Spend less time on your devices and more time in silence.
- Spend time quietly in nature.
- Notice the beauty and enchantment around you. Invite magic into your day.
- Notice synchronicities and messages. Ask your unseen friends for guidance and signs to show you the way.
- Stop throughout your day and take some deep breaths. Make time to just BE.
- Tap into gratitude. Take a moment right now and drop into your heart. Give focus to something or someone you are grateful for. Feel the love expand within you.
- Feel into your choices during the day. What is your intuition guiding you toward? Which choice feels lightest and more expansive? Which one feels heavy and like a “should”?
