If you want more love, compassion, prosperity and respect you MUST begin with loving and believing in yourself. One important way to do this is with your words.
How aware are you with your choice of words and phrases? Do you speak to yourself the same way you want others to speak to you or the same way you speak to those you love? Do you give a positive message to the Universe?
Your words matter more than you may realize. Each word carries your vibration, energy and authority. What you say to yourself is a form of a request to the Universe. The Universe will match your vibration, whether you are conscious of what you are saying or not. Never say anything you don’t want to come true.
What words and phrases do you automatically say? Do you focus on problems or solutions?
Some words and statements I hear people use on a regular basis are:
I am dying for a…(piece of chocolate).
You’re dead right.
I’m so stupid!
I’m pathetic.
I can’t afford to…
I never have enough money.
I’m fat.
Nothing seems to work out for me.
I’m sick and tired of…
Life is hard.
No one understands me.
I’m so old.
I hate…
I’ll never learn.
I’m nobody.
Each word has an energetic resonance. The Universe matches your energetic resonance. Your statements, conscious or unconscious are a request to the Universe. The Universe doesn’t understand sarcasm. The Universe takes everything literally.
An extra powerful way to use words is in the form of “I AM” statements. The “I AM” statement honours the essence of the Divine within and aligns yourself with your higher Self. What you put after “I AM” actually shapes your reality.
Example of “I AM” statements are:
I AM consciously creating a beautiful life.
I AM remembering to…
I AM taking excellent care of my body.
I AM learning to use words in a powerful and positive way.
Watch your words. They are more powerful than you think.
Take Action Now:
1. Recognize. The first step always is to slow down enough to recognize what you are saying. Listen to your words. What do you regularly tell yourself? Do you consciously respond or unconsciously react when things don’t go your way? Notice.
2. Acknowledge how these words leave you feeling. Get curious. Ask: Do they lift me up or bring me down? What is the impact these words could be having on my self-esteem, well-being, health, relationships, prosperity and happiness?
3. Delete and reframe. When you catch yourself using a negative phrase or words, immediately insert the word “Delete” and reframe your statement. Below are a few examples of reframing:
Instead of: | Replace with: |
I’m dying for… | I look forward to… |
I’m so stupid/pathetic, etc. | I am learning |
I never have enough money. | Money comes to me for unexpected reasons for the good of all concerned. |
I’m fat | I love my strong, healthy body. |
Life is hard | What if it could be easy? |
I’m so old. | I am happy to be alive! |
4. Forgive yourself. When you catch yourself speaking a negative word or phrase, keep it light. Remember, you’re learning. Be kind to yourself or you’re right back where you started!
5. Stay awake. You’ll soon see a new habit formed and with that new habit you’ll notice more happiness, abundance and love in your life.
